Planning to visit Canada? Unless you are from a visa exempt country, you may require a Temporary Resident Visa, commonly known as a Visitor Visa. A TRV is a single or multiple entry visa issued to a foreign national to visit Canada as a temporary resident such as a visitor, student, worker or business.
Key requirements for a TRV
- You must provide proof of financial ability to cover the expenses of your visit.
- You must convince the immigration officer that you will leave Canada before the authorized period of stay.
Visitors are not permitted to stay beyond the validity of their authorized stay which is marked on their passport. Under certain conditions, a tourist may apply to extend his stay in the country. For this, you must apply for the extension at least 30 days before it actually expires.
